ARREST-SATKHIRA
51 held in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, Aug 18, 2018 (BSS) – Police, in special drives arrested 51
persons from eight upazilas of the district in last 12-hour ending at 8am
this morning.
Police also recovered 33 bottles of Phensidyl and 20 pieces of Yaba tablets
during the drives.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different
areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 11 persons and recovered
20 pieces of Yaba tablets in an abandoned condition, Kalaroa police arrested
nine persons and recovered 33 bottles of Phensidyl in an abandoned condition,
Tala Thana police arrested three persons, Kaliganj police arrested five
persons, Shyamnagar Thana police arrested 10 persons, Assasuni Thana police
arrested seven persons, Patkelghata Thana police arrested four persons and
Debhata police arrested two persons.
The arrested people are accused in several cases, including charges of
subversive activities, filed with different police stations in the district.
The arrested were sent to jail.
