DHAKA, Aug 16, 2018 (BSS) – Social Welfare Minister Rashed Khan Menon today said the BNP is still celebrating Khaleda Zia’s fake birth day for concealing the involvement of Ziaur Rahman and his allies in the killing on August 15.
“This year, they (BNP) are celebrating the birthday of Khaleda Zia through milad maffil instead of cutting cake, but at the milad mahfils they are lying…. and they are doing this to conceal the role of Ziaur Rahman and his gangs’ involvement in the killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his most of his family members.”
The minister was addressing a discussion marking the Mourning Day at Bangla Motor here.
The fake birth day of Begum Khaleda Zia was not celebrated during the regime of her husband Ziaur Rahman, the minister said.
Sharply criticising BNP’s announcement of launching movement after Eid, the chief of Bangladesh Workers Party said “Please forget the plan to further start movement….Let participate in the next general election.”
“You (BNP) will come to the power, if people of the country elect you…But you cannot be elected through conspiracy,” he added.
Moderated by Awami League (AL) Ward-21 unit General Secretary Babu Moti Lal, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by Dhaka City South AL unit General Secretary Shah Alam Murad, City AL Vice-President Abul Bashar, Joint Secretary Kamal Chowdhury, Shahbagh thana AL President GM Atique and its General Secretary Advocate Hamid.
