College student Luma placed on 3-day remand over rumours
DHAKA, Aug 16, 2018 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today placed Eden Mohila
College student Lutfunnahar Luma on a three-day remand in a case filed
against her for allegedly spreading rumours on social media to create
anarchy.
“We arrested Eden Mohila College student Lutfunnahar Luma from Belkuchi
area of Sirajganj district about 10 pm on Wednesday in connection with a case
filed against her under Information Communication Technology (ICT) Act with
Ramna Police Station,” a police official said.
Police also seized her mobile phone, he said, adding that she was
accused of spreading rumours to create anarchy during the recent students’
movement demanding safe roads.
The arrestee was sent to the court today with a prayer for five-day
remand in the case and the court granted three-day remand.
