MOURNING DAY-JAMALPUR
National Mourning Day being observed in Jamalpur
JAMALPUR, Aug 15, 2018 (BSS)-The National Mourning Day and 43nd martyrdom
of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, is being observed
in the district in a befitting manner today.
The day’s programme included placing wreaths at the portrait of
Bangabandhu, discussion meeting, destitute feeding, screening of films and
special prayers at mosque and others religious institutions.
Marking the occasion, Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Land
Ministry Rezaul Karim Hira placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu on
Kacharipara Shahi Mosque premises in the town in the morning.
Government and non-government organisations, educational institutes,
Jamalpur Press Club, district Awami League, Zila Parishad and Jamalpur
Pourasabha also placed wreaths at that time.
After placing the wreaths, a big mourning procession was brought from the
venue. Lawmaker Rezaul Karim Hira led the procession.
People from all walks of life took part in the procession which paraded the
main roads of the town before terminating on the premises of district
Shilpakola Auditorium.
