DU-SCHOLARSHIP-FUND
New scholarship fund established at DU (With Picture)
DHAKA, August 14, 2018 (BSS) – A new scholarship fund titled “Bilkis
Jahan-Mahbubul Hoque Scholarship Fund” was set up at the Department of
Clinical Psychology of Dhaka University (DU) today.
Dr. Parveen Huque, a retired professor of the Department of Psychology of
DU and daughter of late Dr. Mahbubul Hoque handed over a cheque for Tk 10
lakh to the Chairman of Clinical Psychology Department Dr. Kamruzzaman
Mazumder today at the Vice-Chancellor’s office to set up this scholarship
fund.
It may be mentioned that all four children of late Dr. Mahbubul Hoque
and late Bilkis Jahan Hoque couple have donated this amount to set up this
scholarship fund in memories of their parents.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Professor of the
Department of Clinical Psychology Dr. M. Mahmudur Rahman, Associate Professor
Dr. Farah Deeba, Associate Professor Nazma Khatun, Assistant Professor Jobeda
Khatun and Assistant Professor Md. Shahanur Hossain were present on this
occasion.
Out of the income of this donation, every year some meritorious students
of the Clinical Psychology Department will be awarded scholarship.
Prof. Akhtaruzzaman thanked the donors for their donation. He also paid
his glowing tribute to the memories of late Dr. Mahbubul Hoque and late
Bilkis Jahan Hoque.
