Attempts on to bring back Bangabandhu’s fugitive killers: Anisul

AKHAURA, Aug 14, 2018 (BSS) – Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs
Minister Anisul Huq today said the present government led by Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina is trying all means possible to bring back the fugitive
convicted killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“All have curiosity about when they would be brought back. But I can
assure you that we are trying all means possible to bring them back. We have
fruitful discussion with the US government regarding bringing back Rashed
Chowdhury, who is in hiding in that country. We would bring Rashed back if we
come in power again,” he said.

Huq said these while addressing a discussion marking National Mourning Day
at Advocate Sirajul Huq Muktomanch at Akhaura, Brahmanbaria this noon.
Organised by Akhaura upazila Awami League, the discussion was presided over
by Akhaura Awami League convener Principal Md Joynal Abedin.

Akhaura Municipality Mayor Takjil Kholifa, District Council member Abul
Kashem Bhuiyan, Upazila Awami League Joint Convener Selim Bhuiyan and Kasba
Upazila Awami League Joint Convener and law minister’s APS Adv Rashedul
Kawser Bhuiyan Jibon addressed the discussion, among others.

“We are also trying to bring back Noor Chowdhury from Canada. But the
Canadian government does not support death as maximum punishment and as Noor
has been sentenced to death, they are not willing to send him back. But we
are trying,” Anisul added.

“Ziaur Rahman was in power for six years. He had posted Bangabandhu’s
killers abroad. But later he too was riddled with bullets. BNP doesn’t want
Bangladesh to become a developed country. They want Bangladesh to become
another Pakistan,” the law minister further said.
