38 rivers register rise, 50 fall

DHAKA, Aug 14, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels in 38 river stations monitored by
Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 50 stations
recorded falls.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, five are steady, a bulletin
issued by FFWC said today.

All the major rivers are flowing below their respective danger levels.

The Brahmaputra river is in rising trend, while the Jamuna river is in
steady state. The Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers may rise in next 24 hours.

The Ganges-Padma Rivers are in falling trend which may continue in next 24
hours.

The Kushiyara river of the Upper Meghna basin is in rising trend which may
continue in next 24 hours.

A total of 97 mm rainfall was recorded at Kanaighat and 50 mm at Sunamganj
during last 24 hrs ending at 9am today.
