Ministers mourns death of journalist Golam Sarwar

DHAKA, Aug 14, 2018 (BSS) – Ministers today expressed deep shock at the
death of renowned journalist and Daily Samakal Editor Golam Sarwar.

In separate condolence messages, Health Minister Mohammed Nasim, Law,
Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, Information Minister
Hasanul Haq Inu, Information State Minister Tarana Halim, Dhaka University
Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman and Information Secretary Abdul
Malek prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound
sympathy to the bereaved family.

Sarwar died of various ailments at a Singapore hospital yesterday night.
He left behind wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of admirers and
relatives to mourn his death.

On Thursday, the body will be kept at the Central Shaheed Minar from 11am
to 12 noon under the arrangement of Sammilita Sangskritik Jote to allow
people of all strata to pay tributes and to have a last glimpse at him.

Later, the eminent journalist’s body will be taken on the premises of
Jatiya Press Club where he spent a lot of time of his life with his
colleagues and friends. A namaj-e-janaza will be held after Johr prayers
there.

Later, he will be laid to eternal rest at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals
graveyard after Asr prayers on the day after tomorrow.
