DHAKA, Aug 13, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif today said BNP has no strength to wage any movement as the party has become very weak organizationally.

He said this while addressing a discussion organized by BB Foundation marking the National Mourning Day at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) auditorium here.

Journalist Rahat Khan, BB Foundation Chairman Bahadur Bepari, General Secretary Saifur Rahman Tapon, DRU General Secretary Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo and Chhatra League former central leader Mahiuddin Mahi, among others, spoke on the occasion.

Hanif said BNP hatched conspiracy to take advantage capitalizing on quota movement and subsequently on students’ movement for safe roads but they failed to do that.

“Now BNP is hatching new conspiracies,” he added.

The AL leader said though killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman have been brought to justice, behind the scene perpetrators are yet to be tried.

To take revenge of Liberation War, anti-liberation forces along with conspirators of home and abroad perpetrated the assassination of Bangabandhu,
he said.

Hanif said BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, who took part in the Liberation War as Pakistani agent, was the key plotter to assassinate Bangabandhu.

He said Pakistani occupation forces gave shelter to Begum Khaleda Zia and her son Tarique Rahman at the cantonment during the Liberation War when the forces were setting fire in villages for cooperating freedom fighters.

Hanif said Zia was the mastermind of the government that was formed after the assassination of Bangabandhu.

He said Ziaur Rahman was the most cruel military ruler in the country’s history as over thousand freedom fighter army officers and personnel were killed during his regime.

So, talks of democracy do not go with BNP, he added.
