JSL leaders recall Bangabandhu with due respect

RANGPUR, Aug 13, 2018 (BSS) – Jatiya Sramik League (JSL) leaders recalled
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with due respect
saying he would always remain in people’s heart as they addressed a
discussion after joining a mourning procession.

District JSL arranged the discussion on Bangabandhu Mural premises in the
city on Sunday afternoon in observance of the National Mourning Day and 43rd
martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu.

Earlier, JSL leaders hoisted the national and party flags at half-masts,
brought out mourning procession, placed wreaths at the mural of Bangabandhu,
offered special munajats seeking divine blessings for the departed souls of
Bangabandhu and most of his family members assassinated on August 15, 1975.

With district JSL Acting President Fakhrul Islam Faruk in the chair,
Acting President of district Awami League (AL) Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed addressed
the discussion as the chief guest.

Organising Secretary of district AL Motahar Hossain Mandal Mowla, it’s
Office Secretary Tauhidur Rahman Tutul, General Secretary of city AL Tushar
Kanti Mandal and district Chhatra League President Mehedee Hasan Rony
addressed as special guests.

Moderated by General Secretary of district JSL Shahidul Islam, it’s Joint
General Secretaries Feroz Shahin and Akmal Hossain, Vice-presidents Tazul
Islam and Ashraf Ali, Office Secretary AKM Rezaul Karim, among others,
addressed the discussion.

The JSL leaders said assassinations of Bangabandhu and most of his family
members in 1975 were aimed at destroying independence to make the nation
leaderless as part of deep-rooted conspiracies for reversing the hard-earned
independence.

Shahidul Islam discussed the lifelong struggles, works, sacrifice and
contribution of Bangabandhu.

The chief guest called upon leaders and activists of AL and its associate
bodies to foil the conspiracies being hatched by the anti-liberation forces
against the country for bringing back AL to power again for building the
‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Bangabandhu.
