JS body for increasing number of Bangabandhu fellowship

DHAKA, Aug 12, 2018 (BSS)- A parliamentary watchdog at a meeting today
recommended to increase the number of Bangabandhu Science and Technology
Fellowship Trust to flourish a science-minded nation.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science and Technology Affairs
Ministry came up with the recommendation from its 18th meeting held at the
Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman AFM Ruhal Haque.

The meeting urged the ministry to take steps to collect new chemicals to
produce Tc-99m Cold kit in international standard, said a press release here.

The meeting was informed that Nuclear Power Plant Company Bangladesh
Limited (NPCBL) was formed to establish and run Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.
Meanwhile separate salary scale was formed for NPCBL and 83 employees
including engineers and scientific staff who were recruited.

The meeting recommended increasing awareness among general people and
doctors to provide nuclear medicine treatment service through National
Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (NINMAS) and Institutes of
Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS).

Minister of the ministry and committee member Yasef Osman and other
members Mohammad Aman Ullah, Ayen Uddin, Nurul Islam Milon attended the
meeting, among others.
