JS body for resolving problems faced by justice-seekers

DHAKA, Aug 12, 2018 (BSS) – Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry
of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs today recommended taking necessary
steps to determine causes of harassments, insult faced by justice-seekers in
courts and resolve those.

It also proposed overhauling the judicial process to resolve alternative
dispute.

The committee came up with recommendations at its 43rd meeting held at
Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban, with Abdul Matin Khasru, MP, in the chair.

Law Minister Anisul Huq, Md Shamsul Haque Tuku, Adv Md Ziaul Haque Mridha,
Sofura Begum and Amatul Kibria Keya Chowdhury attended the meeting, among
others. Deputy attorney general Advocate Md Ekramul Haque attended the
meeting on special invitation.

The committee recommended increasing salaries and allowances of public
prosecutors and assistant public prosecutors.

Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division Senior Secretary Md
Shahidul Haque, Law and Justice Division Secretary Abu Saleh Sheikh Md
Zahirul Haque, and other senior officials of Law ministry, and Parliament
Secretariat were present on the occasion, among others.
