Conspirators of Aug 15 still active: Kamal

CHATTOGRAM, August 12, 2018 (BSS) – Home Minister Assaduszzaman Khan Kamal today said the conspirators from home and abroad who colluded with assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with most of his family members on August 15, 1975 are still active.

The Home Minister made a clarion call for consolidated unity among the all pro-liberation forces to stop recurrence of such types of incident.

The Minister was addressing a discussion arranged in observance of the National Mourning Day as the chief guest at city’s GEC convention centre.

Chattogram south district Awami League organised the discussion as part of its fortnight long mourning programme marking the 43rd death anniversary of Bangabandhu.

Kamal said the killers of Bangabandhu were born to create instability in the country and the culprits even recently tried to create instability across the country.

The Home Minister said the people of Bangladesh rightfully elected Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina in 1996 to guide the nation after 21 years.

As a result, the minister said a country, which was ranked first as the most corrupted for five consecutive years, is now a self-reliant and safe country.

Speaking as special guest, State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed said the upcoming general election will be more significant than all the previous ones.

He also urged all the party workers to be united in reelecting Sheikh Hasina as the Prime Minister for the continuation country’s development.

President Chattogram south district unit Awami League Moslem Uddin Ahmed Presided over the function while city Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, central deputy Publication and publicity secretary Aminul Islam Amin, central deputy office secretary Barrister Biplop Barua, mayors of different municipalities, leaders of district and upazila level Awami League addressed the function.
