RAJSHAHI, Aug 12, 2018 (BSS)-State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar
Alam, MP, has said Awami League government always believes in politics of
development and people’s welfare.

He added that the government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to improve living and livelihood
condition of both rural and urban areas through ensuring requisite
infrastructure development.

Alam mentioned that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has started a journey of
development highway accompanied by people and none has power to stop the
journey.

He made this observation while addressing separate public meetings to mark
the inauguration of four newly constructed rural roads at different unions
under Charghat upazila of the district on Saturday as the chief guest.

The four-kilometer roads were constructed with an estimated cost of around
Taka 1.91 crore under the supervision of Local Government Engineering
Department.

Chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ashraful Islam, the meetings were
addressed, among others, by LGED Upazila Engineer Imtiaz Hossain Mondal,
Union Parishad Chairman Md Muniruzzaman, School teacher Mahtab Ali and Awami
League leaders Abdul Wahab and Shahin Mian.

Shahriar Alam said the present government has been implementing various
projects for welfare of the people. He urged the people to keep their
confidence and trust in the government so that it can work for welfare of
those in the days ahead.

Mentioning Awami League only represents the people of Bangladesh, Alam said
the party has brought the nation’s independence through a long struggle led
by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and it will also
bring economic emancipation of the people as well.

The state minister said Bangladesh witnesses real development when Awami
League comes to power. Over the last nine and a half years, the present
government has pulled five crore people out of extreme poverty, making the
country a role model of development abroad.

Bangladesh would be economically self-reliant if Awami League remains in
power, he also added.

Alam called upon the people to vote for Awami League in next national
election to continue the pace of country’s development.

“Bangladesh will be turned into a safe haven for corrupt people, terrorists
and militants if BNP and its cohorts come to power again,” he continued.
