Water levels in 29 rivers rise, 59 fall

DHAKA, Aug 10, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels at 29 river stations monitored by
Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 59
stations recorded fall.

Among the 94 monitored stations, four river stations have been registered
steady, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are in falling trend which may continue in
next 48 hours while the Ganges-Padma rivers are in steady trend which may
continue in next 48 hours.

The rivers in the Upper Meghna basin are in falling trend which may
continue in next 48 hours.

Significant rainfall was recorded at some stations in different districts
during the last 24-hour ending at 6 am today, the bulletin added.

A total of 82 millimeters (mm) rainfall was recorded at Chattak, 55mm at
Lallakhal, 55mm at Latu and 45mm Kanaighat.
