Two killed in road accident in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA, Aug 10, 2018 (BSS) – A child along with driver was killed and 10
others were injured in a road accident on Bogra-Rangpur Highway at RV Cold
store near to Dhaperhat Bandar under Sadullapur upazila here early morning.
The victims are identified as Chandni, 10, daughter of Sarfaraz Miah, at
Mirpur 11 of Dhaka City and driver Saiful Miah, 40, an inmate of Panchagarh
district.
Police and locals sources said the accident took place when the Dinajpur
bound bus of Apa Enterprize from Dhaka was overtaking a loaded truck at RV
Cold Store area of the highway on Friday morning around 5am.
For this, the bus turned turtle on the highway leaving child Chandni and
driver Saiful killed on the spot and other 10 passengers wounded.
Being informed, the police and the men of fire service and civil defense
rushed in, rescued the injured and sent them to Pirganj and Palashbari
upazila health complexes.
The identities of the injured could not be known immediately.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Gobindaganj Highway Thana Akeruzzaman said the
recovered bodies were sent to hospital morgue for autopsy and a case was
filed with the thana in this connection.
