Don’t be misled by rumors: Inu

DHAKA, Aug 9, 2018(BSS)-Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, today
called upon all not to be misled by rumors and misinformation of the
subversive elements.

“It was the purview of the Pakistanis, their collaborators and militants,
to spread falsehood and agitate the popular mind, “he said.

Recalling 1971, he said the Pakistanis had done just that before, during
and after the Liberation War. “They had called us Kafirs, miscreants and were
in total denial of the War and the Genocide that they had carried out,” he
said.

“Their spiritual disciples continue in the same vein,” he surmised.

The minister was speaking as chief guest at a seminar organized by the
Journalist Freedom Fighter’s Command at the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) on the
occasion of Bangabandhu’s 43rd Martyrdom Anniversary.

Inu recalled the great contribution of the Father of the Nation in nation
building and said that he had initiated the constitutional process in the
country.

“Bangabandhu had laid the foundation of all state institutions in
Bangladesh, “he said.

Referring to the rumor campaign by certain subversive elements, he said,
“Those who had predicted the fall of the Hasina government were living in a
Fool’s Paradise.”

“At the hint of every wind they expect the government to cease,” Inu
said.

“They had predicted the government’s downfall when the BNP-Jamaat had
launched its notorious arson by fire campaign. Even trains had to suspend
operation because of their attacks. The same was said when the Hefazat-i-
Islam organized its rally. But none of this proved to be true,” he reflected.

“Now they are trying to fish in troubled waters in the name of road safety
movement,” he added.
