Four held with 2 lakh yaba pills in city
DHAKA, Aug 8, 2018 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Tuesday night
arrested four suspected drug peddlers along with 2.06 lakh contraband yaba
tablets worth about Taka 7.21 crore from the city’s Purbachal area.
“We arrested four suspected drug peddlers, Manik Mia, 27, Abdul Khaleq, 28,
truck driver Masum Mia,40, and its helper Md Arif,22, along with 2.06 lakh
yaba tablets worth about Taka 7.21 crore from the city’s Purbachal area
around 11.30pm Tuesday,” assistant police super of RAB media Mizanur Rahman
Bhuiyan told BSS today.
The yaba tablets were seized from a sand laden truck and a covered van, he
said, adding that the estimated value of the seized yaba is Taka 7.21 crore.
Rab also seized both the vehicles.
Legal action was taken to this end.
