DHAKA, Aug 7, 2018 (BSS) – Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda today
said schedule of the next Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election will be announced in
October while polls will be held in late December or early January.
“According to rules, election should be held by January 28. But, the final
decision will be taken in a meeting of the commission in this regard,” he
told newsmen after a workshop at Electoral Training Institute at Agargaon in
the city.
Asked about the allegations of irregularities in the five city corporation
elections, he said they have taken actions where irregularities were found.
He said if any irregularity is found in next public elections, they will
take necessary steps.
