JS body for enforcing BNBC in constructing multi-storey buildings
DHAKA, Aug 7, 2018 (BSS) – The parliamentary standing committee on Housing and Public Works Ministry today suggested strictly monitoring of construction work of multi-storey and commercial buildings in the capital to know whether the Bangladesh National Building Code (BNBC) is followed.
The committee in its 26th meeting also recommended for taking necessary steps to construct separate hostels for women parliament members in reserved seats of Jatiya Sangsad with its chairman Alhajj M Dobirul Islam in the chair, said a handout.
It was told that the authorities concerned should construct any underpass in Parliament Bhaban keeping its main design as usual.
Committee members Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, Sadhan Chandra Majumder, Abu Saleh Mohammad Syed (Dulal), Begum Noor-E-Hasna Lily Chowdhury and Noorjahan Begum also took part in the meeting.
Senior officials of the housing and public works ministry and parliament secretariat were also present on the occasion.
