33 drug peddlers jailed in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, Aug 7, 2018 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested 37 people here while 33 of them were sentenced to different terms of jail each by mobile courts on charge of taking drugs and drug trading.
The elite force conducted drives in different areas of Rajshahi, Natore and Chapainawabganj districts on Monday and arrested 37 people for their alleged involvement in drug trading or taking drugs.
The RAB officials said they also seized 197 bottles of phensidyl and 830 grams of ganja and some other drugs-taking instruments from their possession.
Later, the arrested were produced before three separate mobile courts.
After examining the evidences, the mobile courts sentenced 33 of them to jail. Three others were fined Taka 14,000 and regular case was recorded against another.
