RAJSHAHI, Aug 6, 2018 (BSS) – Massive fruit tree plantation can be the
effective means of meeting nutritional demands with food security, ecological
balance, biodiversity and mitigating the adverse impact of climate change.

Significance of fruit and fruit trees is very vital in terms of the present
social and national aspects. So, utmost emphasis should be given on
transforming the tree plantation campaign into a social movement.

The observation came at the inaugural session of a three-day Fruit Tree
Fair-2018 at Green Plaza of Rajshahi City Corporation today. District
Administration and Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) organized the
fair.

Dulal Dhali and District unit President of Bangladesh Krishak League Rabiul
Alam also spoke.

The speakers stressed the need on extensive tree plantation to improve

landscape through extensive tree plantations will protect the country from
possible alarming consequences of the ongoing climate changes,” said chief
guest Aminul Islam.

Explaining various beneficial aspects of trees and homestead gardening in
human life, he urged all to plant at least three tree saplings around their
homesteads to help maintain environmental and ecological balance.

He termed the tree plantation as a big investment and said many people have

or on any open space to help maintain environmental and ecological balance
