Man held with 16kg gold at Ctg airport
CHATTOGRAM, Aug 5, 2018 (BSS) – The customs intelligence and investigation
officials detained a man with 136 pieces of gold bars weighing 16 kg at Shah
Amanat International Airport here this morning.
The detainee was identified as Mohammad Jahed, 40, son of Jamal Ahmed,
hailed from Madarsha village under Hathazari upazila of the district.
Nuruddin Milon, deputy commissioner of customs at the Chattogram airport,
told BSS that Jahed arrived at the airport from Oman’s capital Muscat by a
US- Bangla aircraft BS 322 around 6:30am.
Then, customs officials challenged Jahed while he was crossing green
channel and recovered 135 gold bars after searching his luggage.
