Sufferings of commuters continue

DHAKA, Aug 4, 2018 (BSS) – Sufferings of commuters throughout the country, including the capital, continued for today too as plying of public transports remained stopped due to ongoing students’ protest demanding safe streets.

The students of different schools and colleges took to streets following the deaths of their two fellows in a road accident on Airport Road in the city on July 29.

Sufferings of commuters in the capital knew no bound today as they did not get any public transport to go to their destinations, including work places. Plying of long route buses were also kept stopped.

Only some buses of state-owned Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) were seen in the streets in the capital.

Many commuters were seen travelling to their offices by CNG-run auto-rickshaws or rickshaws facing various hindrances.

Since morning, people were seen waiting at different city points for vehicles. They were not getting any public buses except the BRTC services.

Agitating students were continuing their movement in the city streets by forming human chains or checking license of drivers and fitness documents of vehicles .
