75 rivers register rise, 19 fall

DHAKA, Aug 3, 2018 (BSS) – Water levels in 75 river stations monitored by
Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rises and 19 stations
recorded falls.

Among the 94 monitored water level stations, three are above danger level,
a bulletin issued by FFWC said here today.

The Brahmaputra-Jamuna and Ganges-Padma rivers are in rising trend which
may continue in next 72 hours.

The rivers in the Upper Meghna Basin of North-Easter region are in rising
trend which may continue in next 24 hours.

The rivers of South-Eastern Hill basins are in rising trend which may fall
in next 24 hours.

A total of 106 mm rainfall was recorded during last 24 hours ending at 6
am today at Chattogram, 89 mm at Bandarban, 88 mm at Rangpur and 58 mm at
Rangamati.
