Tree fair begins in Narayanganj
Narayanganj, August 2, 2018 (BSS) – A seven-day-long fruit and tree fair
began here on Chashara Saheed Zia hall premises today.
Narayanganj district administration, forest department and agricultural
extension department have jointly organised the fair.
A total of 37 stalls of different verities of trees, fruits and herbal
plants have been set up on the fair premises.
Assistant Conservator of Forest, Narayanganj Sharmin Akter told the BSS
that over 16,000 saplings were planted at different educational institutions
across the district on July 18, in memory of 30 lakh martyres who sacrificed
their lives during the War of Liberation in 1971.
Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Department Md Abbas Uddin was
present at the inaugural function, among others.
