Woman held with 3,800 yaba tablets at Shahjalal airport

DHAKA, July 30, 2018 (BSS)- Members of Airport Armed Police Battalion
(AAPBN) today arrested a woman carrying 3,800 yaba tablets at Hazrat
Shahjalal International Airport.

“Rima Ghosh, 30, came to Dhaka from Cox’s Bazar on Novoair flight VQ-932
around 10.45 am. Carrying her toddler son in lap, Rima was trying to leave
the domestic arrival lounge hastily. We challenged her and found the
contraband drugs hidden inside her dress and packets of pickle,” ASP (media)
of AAPBN Md Tarik Ahmed told BSS.

Rima in the primary interrogation confessed her involvement with drug
trading, saying, she was trying to smuggle in the yaba through airways as
carrying drugs by road has become harder because of the strict monitoring of
the law enforcing agencies recently.

“Rima works as the transporter of yaba and one Imran has given her the
latest consignment, saying she would be paid hefty money for the job,” Tarik
added.

Filing of case is underway in this regard. Rima along with the seized yaba
has been handed over to the Airport Police Station.
