IU to cancel evening courses

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, July 30, 2018 (BSS) – The Islamic University (IU)
authority in Kushtia decided to stop all the evening courses of the
university with a view to give more attention to the main stream courses and
students, an IU press release said on Sunday night.

The decision came at the 113th academic council of the university held at
the conference room of the administrative building with IU VC Professor Dr M
Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari in the chair.

Pro-VC professor Dr M Shahinoor rahman, Treasurer professor Dr M Selim Toha
and deans, chairmen and members of the academic council were present.

The meeting was conducted by acting registrar of the university SM Abdul
Latif, the release added.

Contacted, VC Rashid Askari said the decision was taken to give more
attention to the main stream courses (Honors, Masters, MPhil and PhD) and
students as there are shortage of teachers in the university.

The decision will be effective after the approval at the university’s
syndicate meeting.
