26 held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, July 30, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested
26 persons including 11 drug traders from different areas of the district in
last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 2,000 pieces of cow fattening tablets, 38
bottles of Phensidyl, 318 pieces of Yaba tablets and one kg of ganja during
the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested six persons including
two drug traders with 318 pieces of Yaba tablets, Birganj Thana police
arrested two persons, Birampur Thana police arrested four drug traders,
Phulbari Thana police arrested two persons, Chirirbandar Thana police
arrested two persons, Parbatipur Thana police arrested two persons, Nawabganj
Thana police arrested two drug traders with one kg of ganja, Khansama
Thana police arrested two persons and Ghoraghat Thana police arrested two
persons including a drug trader with 38 bottles of Phensidyl.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending
with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources
added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
two drug traders with 2,000 pieces of cow fattening tablets around 11pm from
Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
