DHAKA, July 29, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the Bangalee nation will turn the Bangabandhu’s independent Bangladesh into a developed and prosperous country by 2041 under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“We should work together irrespective of cast, creed and religion under the leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina to build a dreamy future,” he said in a statement issued today marking the National Mourning Day and the 43rd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Quader said, “The killers not only killed Father of the Nation Bangabandhu along with his family members, but also killed the spirit of Liberation War of the Bangalee nation, their progress, prosperity and the dream of a beautiful future.”
He said the bullets of the killers killed the dream of the whole Bangalee nation on August 15, 1975 by assassinating Bangabandhu as he dreamt to build a ‘Sonar Bangla’ after the supreme sacrifice made by 30 lakh martyrdoms through an armed struggle.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said the assassins stigmatized the nation by killing Bangabandhu along with almost all of his family members by conspiring at home and abroad as he (Bangabandhu) established Bangladesh as a brave nation before the world in only three years and seven months.
The killers did not refrain after killing Bangabandhu, he said, adding that one of the initiators of the killing conspiracy, Ziaur Rahman promulgate the hatred Indemnity Act to stop the trial of the killing of Bangabandhu after grabbing power illegally.
He said, “We carried on the stigma for long 21 years. The government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina freed the nation from the stigma by executing death penalty of the killers through the regular trial process in 2010.”
He said some absconding killers of Bangabandhu are hatching conspiracies till now from abroad. The government of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina is continuing the process to bring back them from abroad for executing the verdict.
By killing Bangabandhu, Quader said, the killers could not kill his ideology, spirit and dream.
The AL general secretary said Bangabandhu had dreamt to build a hunger and poverty-free Bangladesh. Now, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina established Bangladesh as a developing and a prestigious nation before the world.
Noting a speech of Bangabandhu on the trial of war criminals, he said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina brought the war criminals to justice by foiling all conspiracies.
He said Bangladesh is now on the highway of development under the dynamic leadership Awami League President Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh is now a role model of development before the world, he added.
The minister said the Bangalee nation has decided to observe the birth centenary of Bangabandhu as ‘Mujibbarsho’.
He also urged the countrymen as well as AL and its associate bodies, socio-cultural organizations and others institutions to observe the 43rd martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with due respect.
He also urged the AL leaders of districts, cities, upazilas, municipalities, unions and wards to observe the day as per the declaration of AL central committee.
