28 held in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, July 28, 2018 (BSS)- Law enforcers, in special drives arrested
28 persons including 15 drug traders from different areas of the district in
last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also seized 3,000 pieces of cow fattening tablets and 288
bottles of Phensidyl during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on
different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested seven persons including
two drug traders with 38 bottles of Phensidyl, Birganj Thana police arrested
four drug traders, Birampur Thana police arrested two persons, Ghoraghat
Thana police arrested three drug traders with 50 bottles of Phensidyl,
Chirirbandar Thana police arrested three persons, Biral Thana police arrested
one person and Nawabganj Thana police arrested two persons.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending
with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources
added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
six drug traders with 3,000 pieces of cow fattening tablets and 200 bottles
of Phensidyl around 11pm from Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the
district.
Later, the detained persons were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
