German companies keen to recruit new employees in July: report
BERLIN, July 27, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – German companies are still very keen
to recruit additional employees in July, the Ifo research institute reported
on Thursday.
According to its report, the Ifo employment barometer index remained at
104.1 points in July, the same level as in June.
Manufacturing was the only sector to see a fall in employment
expectations, while the other three sectors — trade, construction and
service — all experienced rises.
“The prolonged upturn in the German employment market is currently showing
no signs of fading,” the report noted.
The Ifo Employment Barometer is based on about 9,500 monthly responses
from businesses in manufacturing, construction, trade and the service
sectors. The surveyed companies are asked to report on their employment plans
for the coming three months.
