Stocks close week down

DHAKA, July 26, 2018 (BSS) – Stocks finished the week down on Thursday
with falling trend of all major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock
Exchanges due to lower demand.

The broader DSEX of the DSE finished the week with 32.25 points down at
5,305.17.The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend
with 13.96 points down at 1,890.51 and with 13.31 points down at 1,259.79
respectively.

Out of the 343 issues traded at the DSE today, 125 issues gained against
197 losing issues.

During the week, the daily average trade value increased by 1.45 percent
to Taka 890.95 crore and the average trade volume rose by 12.36 percent to
20.53 crore shares.

The top five gainers of the week were Padma Islami Life Insurance,
Dragon Sweater and Spinning, Simtex Industries, Saiham Textile Mills and IT
Consultants.

The major losing issues of the week were Jute Spinners, Libra Infusions,
Meghna Pet Industries, Meghna Condensed Milk Industry and Apex Tannery.

The top five turnover leaders were BBS Cables, KDS Accessories, IFAD
Autos, Nahee Aluminum Composite Panel and the Peninsula Chittagong.

Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week down with its major
CASPI index ending 70.97 points lower at 16,373.25.
