GAZIPUR MAYOR-OATH
GCC mayor, councillors take oath
DHAKA, July 26, 2018 (BSS)-Newly elected mayor of Gazipur City
Corporation (GCC) and councilors took oath at a function at the Prime
Minister’s Office (PMO) here today.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina administered the oath to GCC Mayor Md.
Jahangir Alam while the councilors took oath from Minister for LGRD and
Cooperatives Engineer Khandakar Mosharraf Hossain.
Senior secretary of the Local Government Division Jafar Ahmed Khan
conducted the oath taking ceremony.
Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Division Obaidul Quader and
local political leaders of Gazipur were present on the occasion.
Elections to the post of GCC mayor and 70 councilors were held on June
26, 2018. Meanwhile, voting for the six posts of GCC councillors remained
suspended on a High Court order.
