Traffic police killed in N’ganj road accident
NARAYANGANJ, July 25, 2018 (BSS) – A traffic police officer was killed in a
road accident in Shibu Market area on Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road under Sadar
upazila of the district this morning.
The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam Azad, 55, was working as
Assistant Town Sub-Inspector (ATSI) of traffic department of Narayanganj
Metropolitan Police, hailed from Nishchintopur village under Madhukhali
upazila in Faridpur district.
Narayanganj traffic police sources said the accident occurred when a speedy
covered van ran over Azad in the area, leaving him critically injured.
He was taken to a local hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead.
Later, police detained the covered van and its driver.
A case was filed in this connection.
