PM creates new history by donating houses among landless poor : Imran
DHAKA, June 20, 2021 (BSS) – Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad today said the Prime Minister has created new history by gifting pucca houses with land among the poor people.
“It is unprecedented in the history of the world to provide pucca houses along with ownership of land to large number of people,” he said while inaugurating 2nd phase of land and housing distribution programme among landless people at Goainghat upazila council auditorium in sylhet marking Mujib Borsho.
As part of the programme, the minister distributed houses among more273 landless families, adding “it is one of the biggest programmes of building houses for the landless people at free of cost.”
Chaired by Goainghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Tahmilur Rahman, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet M Kazi Emdadul Islam, Goainghat Upazila Parishad Chairman M Faruque Ahmad and Upazila Awami League President Mohammad Ibrahim.
