BFF celebrate AFC Grassroots Day
DHAKA, June 19, 2021 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF)
with the cooperation of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) today celebrated
the ‘AFC Grassroots Day’ 2021 in the capital and three other district venues
across the country.
Apart from BFF’s artillery turf at Motijheel, the AFC Grassroots Day
celebrated at BFF’s grassroots zone namely Sheikh Kamal Stadium in
Nilphamari, Bhasha Shaheed Salam Stadium in Feni and Madaripur District
Stadium in Madaripur without spectators following the health guidelines of
the government due to COVID-19 situation.
A total of 800 budding footballers of Under-8 to Under-15 age groups, 200
each from the four zones, took part in the AFC Grassroots Day program.
Meanwhile, AFC Grassroots Day celebrated at BFF artificial turf in
Motijheel. About 200 budding players from 15 star recognized academies
received under the academy accreditation scheme provided by BFF participated
in the event.
BFF executive committee’s members Amer Khan and Mohidur Rahman Miraj, BFF
general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag, BFF development committee’s members
Atiqur Rahman, Khandaker Rakibul Islam, Golam Gauss and Shahid Hossain
Swapan, BFF technical director Paul Thomas Smalley and BFF’s Grassroots’
brand ambassador and Bangladesh women’s national football team’s captain
Sabina Khatun were present on the occasion.
Besides, AFC Grassroots Day was celebrated at Bhasha Shaheed Salam
Stadium in Feni.
Nizam Uddin Hazari, MP of Feni 2 constituency was present on the occasion
as the chief guest while Feni Police Super Khandaker Nurnabi was present as a
special guest.
AFC Grassroots Day was also celebrated at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in
Nilphamari. BFF executive member and Nilphamari District Football Association
president Arif Hossain Moon, Additional Deputy Commissioner and officials of
Nilphamari District Sports Association and District Football Association
(DFA) were present on the occasion.
AFC Grassroots Day celebrated at Madaripur District Stadium in Madaripur.
Madaripur District Football Association president Golam Kabir and other
DFA officials including the secretary of Madaripur DSA were present on the
occasion.
