Taskin ruled out of DPL Super League phase

DHAKA, June 19, 2021 (BSS)-Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed was ruled out of the
super league phase of the Bangabandhu Dhaka Premier League (DPL) due to his
injury on left hand’s thumb, which required at least one week to be healed.

Taskin, a player of Mohammedan Sporting Club in the league, sustained
the injury during his side’s match against Khelaghar Samaj Kallayan Samity on
June 16. He then required six stitches.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) medical team however said that this
type of injury needs one week to be healed. With the super league phase
finishing on June 25, there is no chance that Taskin could take part in the
remaining matches for his side.

The fast bowler had already left the bio-bubble and now was taking rest
at his home.

However he is expected to be fit ahead of the Zimbabwe series for which
the Bangladesh will leave the country on June 29.

“Taskin came here today and we bandaged his finger. Since he is a right
hand bowler and the injury in on left hand, there is no problem. He needs one
week to recover from the injury,” BCB physician Monjur Hossain said here
today.
