3 killed in Cumilla road accident
CUMILLA, June 18, 2021 (BSS) – Three passengers of a private car were killed as a bus of ‘Shyamoli Paribahan’ hit the vehicle on the Dhaka-Chattagram highway of the district today.
The accident took place at around 5 am in Jorkanan area of Cumilla Sadar Dakshin upazila.
The deceased were identified as Miraj Hossain,18, son of Md Mubarak Hossain, from Taltola area of Khilgaon in the Dhaka city, Belal Hossain, 35, son of Abdul Majid of Nalitabari upazila in Sherpur and Fakhrul Alam, 35, a resident of Lakshmipur district.
Mainamati Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Abdur Rahman told BSS that the bus hit the private car while it was taking a U-turn in the area.
Miraj and Belal died on the spot and Fakhrul succumbed to death on the way to the hospital, he added.
He said that police seized the bus and the private car but the bus driver and helper managed to flee away.
