RANGPUR, June 17, 2021 (BSS) – The number of citizens who got the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine reached 3,88,007 in Rangpur division where 38 more people were inoculated today.
Health officials said the 38 citizens, including 36 male and two female, all hailing from Rangpur district alone, were inoculated with the second dose of the jab today.
Due to vaccine scarcity, none was vaccinated today with the second of the jab in seven other districts of the division as the daily infection rate is rising speedily across the division in recent weeks.
“The total of 3,88,007 second dose recipient citizens, including 2,47,140 male and 1,40,867 female, previously got the first dose at least two months ago,” Acting Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam said.
The district-wise break-up of the second dose recipient 3,87,969 citizens stands at 89,666 in Rangpur, 31,753 in Panchagarh, 50,273 in Nilphamari, 27,920 Lalmonirhat, 33,769 in Kurigram, 37,359 in Thakurgaon, 78,830 in Dinajpur and 38,387 in Gaibandha.
“Meanwhile, none was vaccinated with the first dose of the jab since April 26 last in Rangpur division where the number of first dose recipient citizens remained steady at 5,96,943 people,” Dr Islam added.
