Increase customer service as per demand: Nasrul

DHAKA, June 17, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today directed all concerned in power sector to increase customer services as per demand.

“Application of technology must be increased for growth of services,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of 33/11 KV substations in DESCO area virtually.

Nasrul said the capacity will be increased to 1736 MVA in the area concerned through operation of 24 substations, while 450,000 new customers will get benefit, adding, “System loss will be reduced and low-voltage problem will be solved.”

The state minister, however, said power supply system at Uttara third phase and Purbachal will be strong and customers will get quality electricity.

He instructed to complete SCADA, underground cable in DESCO area, underground substations and modern technology installation activities shortly.

“If the projects could not be completed within the stipulated time then the financial and economic damage will have long-term effects,” Nasrul Hamid said.

Chaired by Chairman of DESCO Engineer Sheikh Faizul Amin, the function was also addressed by Power Secretary Md Habibur Rahman and Managing Director of DESCO Md Kausar Amir Ali.
