DHAKA, June 17, 2021 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted that light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at many places across the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country,” said a met office bulletin today.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it said.
Country’s maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded 34.5 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur in Rangpur and lowest one today 22.2 degrees Celsius at Feni in Chattogram.
The highest rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 110 millimeters (mm) at Hatia in Chattogram.
