ICAB signs MoU with CA Australia and New Zealand

DHAKA, June 17, 2021 (BSS) – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday through a virtual platform.

Under this MoU, both the Institutes will recognize their members based on pathway program and practical experience.

There will be no requirement of passing CA ANZ general route examinations by eligible ICAB members as CA ANZ International Pathway Program (IPP) workshop would examine through case studies the contemporary Australasian business, accounting and finance environment relevant for members of ICAB, said a press release.

ICAB President Mahmudul Hasan Khusru and CA ANZ CEO Ainslie van Onselen signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides.

This MoU stipulated that ICAB members living in Australia or New Zealand having five years post qualification experience at anywhere will be eligible to be member of CA CANZ after successful completion of CA ANZ International Pathway Program (IPP).

On the other hand, CA ANZ members can also be members of ICAB subject to having Bangladeshi citizenship and other requirements as prescribed by ICAB Bye-laws.

ICAB President Mahmudul Hasan Khusru said under this MOU, the relationship between the two renowned Institutes will open a new horizon, wider network, foster mutual collaboration, enhance professional expertise, add value to the members and the nation as a whole.

President-CAANZ Dr. Nivos Botica Rodmayno FCA said, “This initiative will solid our partnership through providing mutual benefits.”

She said, CA professionals are difference makers and they would be able to make a difference in terms of education, sharing learning and members’ benefits in future.

The release said the ICAB members are also recognized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), UK without attending ICAEW normal examination route.

Nasir Uddin, Council Member Sabbir Ahmed, CEO Shubhashish Bose, CA ANZ CEO Ainslie van Onselen and Manager International Liaison, International Development Navini Peiris, ICAB Asia Pacific Chapter Chairman Hamiduddin Ahmed and Secretary Abu Haider Mohammed Kibria spoke in the occasion.

CA ANZ is an Australian registered body corporate that is governed by its Supplemental Royal Charter and the CA ANZ By-Laws and is domiciled in Australia.
