7 kidnappers held in Keraniganj, victim rescued
DHAKA, June 16, 2021 (BSS)- Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued an abducted person nabbing the seven kidnappers of a kidnapping ring from South Keraniganj near the capital in the early hours of today.
RAB-10 Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Enayet Kabir Shoaib confirmed the information to BSS today.
The victim was Md Shahjahan,22.
The arrested were: Md Aslam ,25, Syed Al Amin ,22, Md Foyez Ullah ,20, Md Rahmat Ullah Sarkar ,18, Syed Morsalin ,18, Md Imran ,18 and Md Shahdat Hossain ,18.
RAB-10 ASP Shoaib added that an elite team of RAB-10 conducted a raid in Agangar Kathuria area under South Keraniganj police station of Dhaka district at around 2 am.
During the operation, RAB members rescued the abducted victim Shahjahan and 7 kidnappers were arrested.
Law enforcers also seized nine mobile phones from kidnapper’s possession.
According to the preliminary interrogation, the arrested abductors led by the first accused Aslam abducted the victim Shahjahan on his way home from work at around 10.45 pm on June 14.
They later demanded Taka 15 lakh as ransom money from the victim’s elder brother from the mobile used by the victim, RAB sources said.
Seven abductors were handed over Keraniganj police station on Wednesday following preliminary interrogation.
A case was filed against the arrested persons with the concerned police station.
