Two die, 125 more test positive for COVID-19 in Naogaon
NAOGAON, June 16, 2021 (BSS) – A total number of 125 more people were diagnosed with COVID-19 positive in the last 24 hours in the district after testing 573 samples at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital COVID-19 PCR laboratory, Bogura TMSS Medical College Hospital and Naogaon Sadar Hospital COVID-19 rapid antigen testing centers.
Of the new positive cases, 16 are in Sadar upazila, 10 in Raninagar upazila, four in Atrai upazila, 14 in Mohadevpur upazila, 10 in Manda upazila, nine in Badalgachhi upazila, four in Patnitala upazila, five in Dhamoirhat upazila, 26 in Niamatpur upazila, 12 in Sapahar upazila and 15 in Porsha upazila of the district.
The infection rate is about 21.81 percent, the incidence of coronavirus infection is increasing in the district, civil surgeon of the district Dr. ABM Abu Hanif, told BSS.
Meanwhile, two people have died with coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours in the district, civil surgeon of the district said.
The total number of infected persons in the district stood at 3,161 and the number of recovery cases stood at 2,262, civil surgeon Dr. ABM Abu Hanif said.
Meanwhile, 55 patients recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours in the district.
A total of 56 persons have so far died of COVID-19 in the district, he added.
Dr. ABM Abu Hanif said 43 infected persons are now undergoing treatment at Naogaon Sadar Hospital and rest of the infected persons are now undergoing treatment at home quarantine under the supervision of doctors from their respective upazila health complexes.
The health expert urged all to follow the health rules strictly and use masks to prevent the spread of the lethal virus.
He urged everyone to be more aware to prevent this lethal infection.
