REMAND-NASIR-NARCOTICS
Nasir 4 others remanded in narcotics case
DHAKA, June 15, 2021 (BSS) – A court here today placed five people
including businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud, who has been arrested in a
case filed by actress Pori Moni over attempted rape and murder, on
different terms of remand in a case lodged under narcotics control act.
The remanded accused are Nasir Uddin Mahmud, 65, costume designer
Tuhin Siddiqui Omy, 33, Lipi Akter, 18, Sumi Akter, 19, and Nazma Amin
Snigdha, 24.
Of the five, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nivana Khayer Jessy placed
Nasir and Omy on seven-day remand each, while the rest were placed on
three-day remand.
The court came up with the order as police produced the five persons before the court and pleaded to place them on five-day
remand.
Detective branch (DB) arrested them from a house on Road-12,
Sector-1 of suburban Uttara last night and seized local and foreign
alcohol and 1,000 pieces of yaba during the raid.
Earlier, on June 13, actress Pori Moni in a Facebook post alleged that
rape and murder attempt was made on her and later in a press
conference at her house, she narrated her ordeal and held them
responsible.
