DHAKA, July 24, 2018 (BSS) – Finance Minister AMA Muhith today said the
project directors of different development projects can disburse three
installments of project allocations from July 1.
“I stress disbursement of budgetary allocation for development projects.
If the project directors can disburse three installments of their allocations
from July 1, I think the implementation of development programmes will be 100
percent,” he said.
The Finance Minister said this while briefing reporters after addressing
the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) conference at Cabinet Division here.
He asked the DCs to follow his instruction as it is an urgent for timely
implementing development programmes.
“I told DCs that it is a big responsibility for you. Improvement must be
visible at the end of the year,” he added.
Replying to a question, Muhith said the revenue collection has been
enhanced as the government has taken various initiatives in this regard.
As per the demand of DCs, he said, accommodation is a big issue for DCs
as many of them are living in old buildings.
The government is trying to address their accommodation crisis by
constructing new buildings, he said.
The three-day DC conference began in the capital today.
