RpMP arrests 10 brokers from RpMCH

RANGPUR, June 13, 2021 (BSS) – The Detective Branch (DB) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) arrested 10 brokers from Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RpMCH) premises in the metropolis this afternoon.

“The brokers were arrested while harassing patients who came to get treatments at the emergency department of RpMCH,” a press release issued by Assistant Commissioner of Police (DB and Media) of RpMP Md Faruk Ahmed said.

The arrested brokers are: Morshed Alam, 24, Masud Shah, 27, Mizanur Rahman, 35 and Ashraful Islam, 32, of Rangpur city, Mahbub Alam, 34, and Uttam Kumar, 23, of Panchagarh, Apan Kumar, 23, of Rangpur Sadar upazila, Ujjal Roy, 24, of Gangachara upazila in Rangpur, Rifatul Islam, 21, and Kamal Roy, 23, of Nilphamari.

There have been incidents of cheating and harassment of patients by brokers at different RpMCH and adjoining areas in the metropolis for a long time.

“Following such allegations, the DB police of RpMP conducted sudden raids and arrested the 10 brokers and fraudsters red-handed from the area,” the release said.

After filing a case against the arrested brokers, the DB police handed them over to Kotwali police station of RpMP.

Under direction and supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB) of RpMP Kazi Muttaki Ibnu Minan and led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Faruk Ahmed, Inspectors Saleh Ahmmed Pathan, ABM Feroz Wahid and Motaleb Hossain with other policemen participated in the raid.
