DHAKA, June 13, 2021 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the politics of ‘foreign-dependent’ BNP is now isolated from the root as the party takes stance against the country and the people.

“BNP is creating crisis for itself by taking stance against the country and the people,” he told a regular press conference at his official residence here.

About the comment of BNP leaders that the country’s politics is now in crisis, Quader said there is no crisis in the country rather BNP’s politics is in deep crisis.

He said such comments of BNP leaders are nothing but a shield to protect themselves from the wrath of party workers.

To hide their failures, BNP leaders are now out to make the party workers daydream of a robust movement, he said.

About BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s comment that AL would be washed away in BNP’s movement, he said Awami League is not a water hyacinth so that it would be washed away in BNP’s shouting.

The AL general secretary said the people have heard many ‘seasonal shouts’ of movement of BNP while the party workers also saw that their leaders go in winter sleep after calling for movement.

Quader said the people who have trust in Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s humanitarian and efficient leadership would not fear the roars of terrorism-based movement of anyone.

He said BNP’s fresh threat of movement is nothing but hints of another failed attempt in continuation of the past.

Mentioning that AL’s root is very deep into this soil, he said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina remains in the heart of the people. Many conspiracies were hatched and terrorist attacks were carried out on AL, but the party became stronger and stood beside the people, he said.

About AL President Sheikh Hasina’s directives on organizational discipline for leaders and workers at all levels, the AL general secretary said without taking permission from the Central Working Committee, none can dissolve or form any committee or suspend anyone from the party.

The AL president has given directives to leaders and workers at all levels to strictly abide by organizational discipline, he mentioned.

Organizational and administrative actions will be taken if anyone is found involved any wrongdoings or in tarnishing the image of the party and the government, he said.

Quader urged all concerned to refrain from making any comments that could be conflicting with the party’s ideology, interest and discipline.

Paying rich tributes to veteran AL leader and former minister Mohammad Nasim on his first death anniversary, the AL general secretary said Nasim was a long-time devoted and hardworking leader of the party.

The AL and the country lost a patriotic, honest and ideal leader at his death, he said.
