Jana Udyog’s Jubo cell conducts motivational campaign on Covid-19 in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, June 13, 2021 (BSS)- Jubo cell of Jana Udyog, a social organisation formed by the conscious citizens of the district town, conducted publicity and motivational campaign at important places of the district town yesterday to create much awareness about Covid-19 among the mass people.

In this regard, an inaugural function was held in front of Asaduzzaman Market on DB Road of the district town on Saturday noon with convener of the organisation Professor Jahurul Kaiyum in the chair.

The function was addressed, among others, by Acting President of District Awami League Farhad Abdullah Harun Bablu, General Secretary of Gaibandha Bar Association Advocate Sirajul Islam Babu, former Panel Mayor of Gaibandha Municipality GM Chowdhury Mithu, member secretary of Jana Udyog and also President of Abalambon Foundation Probir Chakrabarty, human rights worker Anjali Rani Debi, development workers Md. Shahidul Islam and Ahaduzzaman Rimu, Dalit leader Khilon Robi das and youth leaders Shikha, Safin, Adhir and Shantana.

The speakers said coronavirus had spread worldwide in the form of a pandemic and has already killed millions of people. So, people around the world are now more worried about the remedy of coronavirus, they added.

“Though now, the prevalence of corona infection rate is declining day by day due to various reasons internationally. But, the influence of its new Indian variants is increasing in our country specially in the frontier districts. As a result, many people are dying every day,” they further said.

In this context, there is no alternative to follow the health guidelines for saving lives from the deadly virus, they added.

As per the directives of the health experts, the speakers suggested the common
people to wear masks, wash hands with soaps repeatedly, use hand sanitizers,
maintain social distancing to prevent the coronavirus spread in the country.

They also urged the people to stay home safely and not to go outsides
unnecessarily amid the risk of Covid-19 infection.

Later, a voluntary team of singers rendered folk songs about corona and its prevention through a well decorated mobile pickup van at important places of the district town.

The team also distributed masks, sanitizers to the common people free
of cost on behalf of the organization during the campaign.
